Waterparks Concert Tips!

So I know we’re already well into the entertainment tour, but I decided that since there’s a good handful of dates left, this might come in handy! This is all stuff I learned from my experience at the show.

  • Whether or not you should get there early depends on how close to the barrier you want to be, and how much confidence you have in your ability to push through the crowd. If you’re fine with watching from the middle or back or feel comfortable maneuvering through a crowd, getting there just a bit before doors is fine, but if you REALLY want to be at the barrier and don't like moving through crowds, Id say get there a couple hours early.
  • If you want merch, get it beforehand. The merch line is gonna be long when you first get in, but it’ll be RIDICULOUS after the show. It’s better to get it early, if you have someplace to put it.
  • DRINK WATER. If you can’t bring outside water to your venue, get one at the snack bar in the venue, and bring it into the crowd with you.
  • On that note- bring a small bag. You don’t want to be carrying stuff in your hands while you’re trying to get into the show, and pockets can only do so much. Keep water and snacks if you have them, your money, any merch you get, and your phone (if you’re not using it) in there. It can be a drawstring, unless you plan on crowdsurfing- in that case, get something that seals, like with a zipper. You don’t want to lose anything. Please, though, make it a small bag- a full backpack is annoying for you and the people around you in a crowd situation.
  • Again, related-  If you have a heavy jacket, shell out for coat check. You may think you’ll be fine holding it the whole time. You will not. Check your shit.
  • Don’t worry if you end up not as close to the barrier as you wanted at first; people move as the show goes on, so if you pay attention to the people around you and how they’re moving, you can make your way up to the front gradually.
  • If you don’t want to get pushed, stay away from the pit. If it forms around you or next to you, just ask the people on your other side or ahead of you politely if they can help you get away- they will most likely push you up or away from the pit.
  • If you’re okay with being shoved, though, don’t be afraid to get into the pit! It can be a lot of fun, and a milder concert like this is a great place to try new things that might be too much in other situations!
  • Look out for crowdsurfers. There’s probably going to be a lot of them, and they WILL pass over you at some point, so just keep an eye out. Be polite, help hold them up when they go by (Getting dropped SUCKS, be nice and help), and warn the people in front of you that someone is coming. (The same tip for the pit goes here- if you see someone putting people up, give it a try! But like, if you have Heavy shoes, try to at least hold your legs up. Boots Hurt.)
  • Stretch your legs if you can! The opening sets are long and people don’t really start moving a lot until IDKHow. The standing in one spot really makes your legs hurt, so doing some steps and stretching your legs in place while in the crowd can help calm that down until you can actually start moving. There’s about 15 minutes in between every set- that’s a good chance to get some shimmying in.
  • Pay attention to the openers! Most of them are really good, and its gonna be a while til Parx play, so you should try to have as much fun with them as possible in the meantime.
  • Its perfectly fine to record and take some pics, but remember to put your phone down. Try to only record for a little bit every couple songs- live in the moment. Also, keep a tight grip on your phone when you’re recording. You don’t want to drop it on someone.

That’s about it. Have fun, everyone!
